2020 - the year my tryst with Vedic Astrology begins ...


2020 is going to be a transformational year for every one, every country. Everyone knows that.

It seemed to be going well until Covid19 happened. Economy got shutdown, flights got stranded, shops got closed, offices got into WFH mode et. al.. As things now start to unlock a little bit (nearly end of May), it is important to reflect upon the next set of trajectories for oneself.

Here is mine..

I have been watching a number of videos on various topics. But astrology has really caught my fancy. Well, it fascinates many, it fascinated me earlier as well. This time around, I am actually going to do something about it. There are many reasons for doing it and doing it now.
  1. India has a wealth of astrological knowledge and from all evidence points to this knowledge being comprehensive, scientific, and complete.

  2. Astrology in India suffers from detachment or hate by the newer generations - perhaps due to the oriental influence in our education. There is a need to provide a scientific basis to this interesting subject matter and to make it commonly available to masses.

  3. My work profile of data analytics, data science, predictive analytics, machine learning has pushed me towards using data to validate, improve the art of predictions in India.

  4. There are so many astrologers - jyotishis - that are now online and working towards making this knowledge available. So, it is the right time to start learning.
Inspiration

Of the many videos and online content I browsed and continue to do so, one particular portal has been of great inspiration. The gentleman behind it, Sh. P.V.R. Narasimha Rao, is highly educated and scientific in his approach who has already done most of the work (perhaps all of it). This is really helpful for people like me who only have a peripheral familiarity, if at all, with this subject.

Predictions

As I start my journey, I am also going to be validating things on the way. One would be to make sure that my trust in vedicastrologer.org was a good bet. One of the best ways is to come back and review the predictions made today:

  • Covid 19 would see an upsurge in the Mid-June to July time frame (Updated 8-May-2021: our 1st covid wave started at around that time, it peaked by mid-Sep, and then dwindled by Nov end.)
  • Another Covid19 upsurge or a similar tragedy is likely to surface in Nov-Dec time frame. Phew! 2020 is really going to be super transformational.  (Updated 8-May-2021: Not sure what happened here. Can not think of a major event during this time frame. The same prediction was done by many Vedic astrologers.)
  • Looks like, Donald Trump is not getting elected again in 2020. Oh Oh. Not that I love him but he was still a better bet for India than Biden or likes. (Updated 8-May-2021: Definitely true. Trump got defeated and Biden got elected as the POTUS)
  • Modi Ji would be elected as PM again with strong majority in 2024.
  • Modi Ji would take sanyas from politics in the midst of his term and had over the reign to someone younger to lead the nation.
  • There would be some war or wars in the decade of 2020 to 2030.
  • China would break into 5 parts including a free Tibet in the decade of 2020 to 2030.
  • By 2034, India would be a major world power - economically, politically, and as a guide to the world.

With that, let the Vedic astrology journey begin!

Retun to India - my experiences

This is a post on my experiences in India after moving back to India after 5+ years. I am writing this post after nearly an year of moving back to India. So, some of the things have blurred over a period of time. Since, I moved back to India without having made a single refresh trip in between, I had lost a feel of many things and so , perhaps, had more surprises than others.  Infrastructure: The grand reception at the Delhi's T3 terminal sets in a great mood about India. Followed by Indian builders who seem to have created fantastic monuments in and around the metros. India's builders are, perhaps, the most visible face of India's growth story. Roads have tried to keep up with the new lifestyle with most of the flyovers in place. Apartments with swimming pools, greens, gyms, clubs are a no big deal now.
